Thank for giving us your time

I would like to thank the Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay for giving us his time while he was here in Brisbane

Queensland does not often receive visitors who come from the Government In Exile and so it has been a real privilege to have you here with us

The Tibetan Community and the Tibet Support Community are very active here in Queensland supporting the Tibet issue and I think I speak on behalf of all of us when I say that we will continue to fight for the rights of Tibetans in Tibet

We have all been following your tour with great interest and have been encouraged to see the Australian media and political representatives give time to you and the Tibetan cause.
Having someone like you as the Prime Minister is very exciting – you bring energy, passion, youth and vision to the role. You are Kalon Tripa at a critical time for Tibet and it is more important than ever to highlight the Tibet issue around the world.

With HHDL retiring from his political role it is extremely important that the role of Kalon Tripa step into the global political spotlight to say to the world ‘Tibet matters – we have the same struggle as those in the Middle East – Tibet Matters’.
To stand up to China and to say to the world that they still have a way to go to take their place as a true global citizen.

Everyone here today is here because they believe in a better world.

Prime Minister, you have our support to take Tibet to that better world.
Thank you for coming to Brisbane and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Australia – perhaps for a little longer.

I would like to thank everyone involve and helped organise this event, and everyone who came along this morning.
I would also like to sincerely thank ATC, Chenrezig Buddhist centre and all other wonderful organisations that support the cause of Tibet.
