First ever Shoton Festival in Australia

1st ever Tibetan Shoton Festival held in Brisbane, Qld. Australia 2017 today, on 20 th August. I like to share this photo exhibition on different topics related to Tibet. Thank you to all who came & we are glad to share piece of our country’s rich history with Queensland Tibetan Community.  Sincere thank to all our busy helpers without you guys this wouldn’t have happened. RIP Pasang Dhondup la (Self immolated )

Queensland Tibetan community gathered and pray for our late Passang Dhondup who has self immolated in India for the cause of Tibet. Rest in Peace and we would like to thank to all who came to the prayer.

First Tibetan Shoton Festival 2017

Free Queensland Tibetan Community event in August, all Welcome

Queensland Tibetan Community organizing a Tibetan Shoton Festival which has three meanings :
1) Yogurt Banquet,
2) Buddha’s unfolding ceremony.
3) Tibetan Opera festival.
This is a free event and every one is more than welcome to enjoy our programs such as meditations and religious teaching by Geshe Tashi Tsering la and other Geshe La. Also Thangka, Yoga and Dance workshops…. it will be an exciting and fun program which is aimed to raised the awareness of Tibet and its unique culture. Donations are much appreciated.

RIP Tenzin Choeying

Community members gathered yesterday to prayer for Tenzin Choeying la, self immolated for Tibet independence on 14th July, 2017 Sarnath, Varanasi INDIA.
Unfortunately he passed away yesterday 4:50 pm. Rest in peace Tenzin Choeying la. Om mane padme Hyung. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏 with Queensland Tibetan
May your soul rest in peace. Om mani pad me hun.

The Luminous Lantern Parade by MDA

This event was hold on the 9th June from 5pm- 8pm.
According to MDA, The parade features lanterns of all colours and sizes paraded by representatives from government, council, business and community groups and the broader Brisbane community celebrating our state’s great cultural diversity.

The parade is followed by cultural performances and activities in the Cultural Forecourt with range of food and beverage stalls with delicacies from around the world.

The annual event is held in order to welcome for new Queenslanders, including refugees, international students, people seeking asylum and migrants.

Praying for the 11th Panchen lama and for brave self immolators

Community Prayer

Tibetan Community members are meeting here in New farm Library praying for Gendun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen lama, who has been missing since 1995. Wherever he is, we are always praying for your health and wellbeing.
